When it comes to the US, these days are slowly coming to our doors. We are all waiting for that special moment when marijuana will be legalized federally, and we don’t have to sneak into neighboring states to get some legally.

In this article, we’re talking about a few facts and some predictions about when this is going to happen. Will it be this year? Will it be the next one? Read on if you want to know more on the subject!

More states are already into it

More states have the proposals for this on their desks for years. Citizens of these states are waiting for so long for something like this to happen, but it seems something is holding them back to pass the bills through.

Every year we read how the next year is the one that these bills will pass, but nothing like this is happening. Maybe now is the time for the legalizing process to become more active. With the new administration in the White House, it seems that we can expect this.

Some people would ask, but is Biden good for the cannabis industry and the legalization process? We don’t know about that yet, but you can be sure that he is way better than the previous president who was much more conservative than any other before.

Why it’s crucial to legalize it?

There are so many facts pointing to the justification of legalization. One of them is the fact that more people in the US are for than against it. The 50% barrier was broken in 2013 when US citizens turned their backs on a conservative approach toward it.

Before, the common idea for cannabis that it was highly dangerous and was ranked almost as any other drug, which of course, is not true. Now, over 75% of Americans think we should legalize it at least in some form.

Then, there’s the economical aspect. The states and countries around the world that made this possible for their citizens see huge revenues coming in from taxes. If we manage to do this in every state or do it on a federal level, the country can expect major profits.

Not to mention all those businessmen that will get into it and make billions of dollars. Today, almost everyone between the age of 18 and 30 tried cannabis at least once in their lives. Millions of people are using it regularly. Of course, all of this is mainly illegal. If we manage to make it legal, then everyone wins.

How about we take an example from those states that legalized it already and see how they are doing. Do they have massive murders, overdoses, dropping out of school and people not doing their job? Not really. Nothing’s changed in these states.

People continue doing what they did before and there’s nothing changed. The only thing that is changed is a drop in crime rates, which means that not only isn’t bad for the citizens, but it brings in good things.

Another highly important and valuable aspect of legalizing it is the health issue. Everyone knows that marijuana has a relaxing effect. In times like these, when stress is an everyday issue, people need something to relax.

Legalizing pot will make it accessible to millions who struggle with stress and have nothing to do to reduce it. At the moment, only those states who regulate it properly provide the chance for their citizens to enjoy the calming effects.

At the same time, there’s the medical use that has proven to work. People with Alzheimer’s and other diseases find enormous use of it. Without medical marijuana, they wouldn’t be able to get through the day without pain and discomfort.
